EMMY Nomination for The Conductor

The Conductora documentary film that chronicles the life and musical world of Marin Alsop, was nominated for an EMMY for Best Arts and Culture Documentary. Directed by Bernadette Wegenstein, The Conductor weaves together interviews, unseen footage, and archival works to tell the evolving story of Alsop’s life and career. Unseen Films hailed it as “a glorious portrait of a woman you’ll want to hang out with and talk to for hours. This film is a joy and highly recommended.”

The Conductor premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was met with honors and critical acclaim at festivals across the globe. It then aired on PBS as a part the Great Performances series. The film focuses on Alsop’s inspiring spirit and her role as a pioneer for women on the podium. AThe Washington Post wrote, “If conductor Marin Alsop’s done it, it’s probably because someone told her she couldn’t.”
