Both the Ravinia Festival and ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien have announced extensions to Marin Alsop’s contract through 2025.
Marin Alsop continues her contract with Ravinia Festival through the summer of 2025 beginning with the creation of the Breaking Barriers Festival, an annual series that celebrates the diverse artists and leaders helping classical music continue to grow its roots. Taking place July 29–31, the festival honors 20 years of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship and the centenary of Margaret Hillis, the pioneering founder of the Chicago Symphony Chorus. Featured events include two CSO concerts led by Alsop, former Taki Alsop fellows Jeri Lynne Johnson and Laura Jackson, and newly named 2022 Taki Alsop fellow Anna Duczmal-Mróz and screenings of the documentary film about Alsop, The Conductor.
ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien has also announced an extension to Alsop’s contract, running the 24/25 season. In the coming years, Alsop will lead the orchestra in numerous concerts, recordings, and tours
